Suzuki has been doing pretty well in India. The two-wheeler manufacturer is looking to grow on its volume and add more to its portfolio. The Gixxer has been an important bike for the company. This bike changed the game completely. Suzuki is looking at adding a bigger Gixxer and also using this 150cc engine on to another motorcycle as well. The Suzuki GZ 150 is the next bike the company seems to be working on. This will be having the same Gixxer engine, even though re-tuned.
There have been several reports indicating that the Suzuki and Motul have been working on the GZ 150 for the Indian market. The success of Avenger 150 makes it a great option to look at this segment. We reckon this new cruiser bike will be launched by mid 2018. The unveil is likely to be at the 2018 Auto Expo.
The Suzuki GZ 150 will be priced somewhere in the range of ₹ 75,000 to ₹ 80,000. This new bike will not have fuel-injection. It will be carb and it will then go against the Avenger 150 as a head-on competition.
This is an all new bike, but the engine is familiar. This engine is butter-smooth and it churns about 15bhp of power and close to 11Nm of maximum torque. This engine comes with a five-speed transmission, not six like the competition does. There is more than sufficient power and torque. The engine is free-revving and happily redlines too. The torque to ride in the city is good enough. There is a twin-piston disc brake set-up at the front and the rear has drum brakes. The front suspension will be telescopic and the rear has dual springs.
In terms of mileage, this cruiser bike should return close to 55km/l. This is good enough for this engine as it has more than sufficient torque and power to ride comfortably. Suzuki has a gem of an engine, which is good in performance and even mileage. A good balance of the two.
A cruiser motorcycle that is 2,250mm long and has a good enough wheelbase of 1,460mm. This bike comes with 12 litres of fuel tank and it will be a comfortable bike for those looking at long trips. The fuel tank should have been a tad larger, anyways this is good enough for them. This bike has good enough reasons to attract more riders.

There will be daytime running LED on offer. The new Suzuki cruiser motorcycle will be adding another option for those looking at comfortable cruising over a long distance. This bike isn’t meant for those looking at carrying saddle bags but for those who believe they are riding around something exciting.
At the moment there is only one competing bike to this. It is the Bajaj Avenger 150. This is an all new cruiser bike that will go up against this Bajaj cruiser. Bajaj had introduced this bike last year itself. The demand for low-displacement cruiser bikes are on the rise. This is giving Suzuki an opportunity to explore this new territory, where Bajaj has been doing well. To know more about the Suzuki GZ 150 India launch date, stay tuned to MotorOctane.com
